Mind Forward is an informal peer support group run by Sheffield Mind. It is designed to help people get the support and advice they need to make progress in their recovery.
Mind Forward doesn’t offer one-to-one support, but the weekly sessions offer users a safe and welcoming space in which to discuss your situation and get the information and support you might need to make positive changes, try new approaches and identify services which can help.
Mind Forward offers:
- a warm friendly atmosphere
- trained volunteers offering support and information
- encouragement and support to try new things
- the opportunity to make friends
- the chance to talk to people who have lived experience of mental health issues
Each session has a different theme. You can attend all of them or feel free to pick and choose which sessions are relevant to you. Booking is not required and you can just drop-in. See their website for information about what the themes are and when.
Trying new things in a safe space, with trusted staff and volunteers, can give people the confidence they need to start getting involved in other activities in their communities. Mind Forward volunteers will encourage people to get involved and support them to take the first steps.
The sessions take place:
Where: Sheffield Mind Wellbeing Centre, 110 Sharrow Lane, Sheffield, S11 8AL
When: Every Monday 2pm – 4pm
Please note: events may not be running on bank holidays and over the Christmas period. Please double check with the organiser before attending if you are unsure.
