Battle Scars are a small, survivor-led charity offering local, regional, national as well as international support around self-harm, including eating disorders. They run face-to-face services in Leeds and Wakefield but they also run online and virtual support groups that anyone can join.

They are not a crisis service and may not be able to respond immediately.

Online Support

Battle Scars run online adult peer support groups. There is a group each weekday at different times. Each group runs every two weeks. Please check out their website for current times and days. These are held on Zoom. To join a group, use the contact form near the bottom of the support groups page.

They run a group for parents and friends of people who self harm on Monday and Tuesday evening (alternating). You can find out more and apply to join on their website.

They also moderate a private Facebook support group and host lots of resources about self-harm.

Young People (under 18)

Battle Scars do not provide online groups for people under 18 (they do have a face-to-face 16-25 group that meets in Leeds). However they do provide information for younger people including a free workbook they have developed for 10-17 year olds. To find out more about the workbook you can visit their workbook webpage, where you can order your free copy.
