British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is a professional association which represents counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. The website provides information on where to find a local registered therapist as well as research, education and training opportunities.

It is a national accrediting body for counsellors and psychotherapists. An accreditation means that a counsellor/psychotherapist has a substantial amount of training and experience in line with BACP guidelines. It is strongly recommended that if you are looking for a counsellor you make sure that they are accredited by BACP or another governing accreditation body.
