Dementia UK are a national charity that provide advice, information and support for anyone living with dementia, and their families. They provide resources on their website including about the different types of dementia and health advice.
Admiral Nursing
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses. Continually supported and developed by Dementia UK, they provide life-changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia – including Alzheimer’s disease.
Admiral Nurses help people living with dementia stay independent for longer – and support the people caring for them so that they will have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.

Dementia Helpline
The Dementia Helpline is staffed by Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses. They will listen to you and give advice, support and information. Phone 0800 888 6678 for free, send an email to [email protected], or fill in this form to speak to a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse.
Phone lines are open:
- Monday to Friday: 9am to 9pm
- Saturday to Sunday: 9am to 5pm
- Bank Holidays, except 25th December: 9am to 5pm
Young Onset Dementia
Dementia is defined as ‘young onset’ when it affects anyone under 65. Dementia UK provide age appropriate resources on their website. Their helpline staff are also trained to support anyone with a young onset diagnosis.
They have also set up The Young Dementia Network, a collaboration between people affected by and working in the field of young onset dementia.
