Support for Individual Employers and Personal Assistants
You are an ‘Individual Employer’ when you employ your own Personal Assistant, rather than through a care agency. This ensures you are in control of your own care.
‘Personal Assistants’ support an individual to live more independently, usually in their own home.
This is a Peer Coaching and Mentoring project providing ‘Individual Employers’ and ‘Personal Assistants’ with the opportunity to talk to someone who has had similar experiences. You can access this project whether you are new to the world of care or not.
The Coaches and Mentors can provide advice and suggestions in specific situations and also discuss shared experiences. Features also include a Personal Assistant Register to find a personal assistant, as well as support resources for Individual Employers.
Sheffield Cycling 4 All
Sheffield Cycling 4 All is a friendly and inclusive cycling project, designed for disabled cyclists. Sessions run Monday to Thursday, and the last Saturday of the month. The cost is £4 for riders and free for carers. The sessions take place in Hillsborough Park. To book your 1-hour cycling slot, you can email, call or text them. They can be phoned or texted on 07565 695296 and their email address is [email protected]
