Educational Psychology Service is provided by Sheffield City Council. They work with children and young people (0-25 years) and their families as well as staff in schools and in early years educational settings.
Educational Psychologists help to find solutions to worries and concerns about how children are progressing, developing or learning. Their main aim is support the education and development of children and young people.
Depending on the needs and situation of the child or young person an educational psychologist may see them individually. They also may meet them and their families in home or in school settings.
The Educational Psychology Service support children and young people aged 0-25 who may have extra needs that affect their learning, such as:
- Communication and interaction
- Thinking and learning
- Social, emotional, and mental health
- Sensory and physical needs
- Independence skills
They also work with school staff, parents, carers, and other services across Sheffield, including the provision of training.
