NeurodiverCity Sheffield (formally Sheffield ADHD Project) is commissioned by Sheffield City Council and provides support to families of children and young people living with ADHD in Sheffield. They have two different pathways of support; information sessions and parent/carer drop-in cafes which are fully supported by professionals and post-diagnostic support. For post-diagnostic support a referral from a healthcare professional is needed.

Early Support Pathway –

Their early help sessions provide information on local and national sources of support, including educational, practical, and emotional. They also provide information designed for children of different ages. Parents and carers can access these sessions and do not need a referral.

Post Diagnosis Pathway –

This pathway includes an initial information session and then a seven-week training course called Managing ADHD Groups (MAG). Courses are provided to parents and carers where a child or young person has been diagnosed with ADHD. All sessions take place either in person at Scotia Works, or on Zoom. A referral from a healthcare professional is needed.

They also provide training, consultancy and support for schools and professionals in Sheffield.

NeurodiverCity Sheffield is a support service run by Family Action, who also run an advice line called FamilyLine, and have online self-help resources on parenting and families.
