The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is a national charity with branches across the UK. They work to protect children, prevent any kind of abuse, help to rebuild children’s lives and support families.
There is no longer an NSPCC Service Centre in Sheffield.
They provide 2 national helplines:
- NSPCC helpline is if you are worried or concerned about a child. Even if you’re unsure, you can contact their child protection specialists 10am–8pm Monday to Friday for help, advice and support. You can remain anonymous if you want to. NSPCC helpline T: 0808 800 5000; E: [email protected]
- ChildLine is the UK’s free, confidential helpline for children and young people. It runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Childline T: 0800 1111; Website: www.childline.org.uk
Their website provides comprehensive information about spotting the signs of abuse and how to keep children safe (including online).
