Share Psychotherapy is a Sheffield-based charity offering low-cost psychotherapy services to everyone. They particularly support anyone who cannot afford, or cannot access, therapy anywhere else.
Costs for therapy sessions depend on individual income and operate on a sliding scale, ranging from £10 – £50 a session.
Share currently offer different types of therapy, including:
- Art therapy
- Person-centred psychotherapy
- integrative therapy.
They work with a variety of problems, including difficulties with relationships, depression and anxiety.
Referrals can be made by the individual, a GP or by any mental health professional. When your application has been reviewed you’ll get an email confirming that you’ve been added to their list of applicants. They’ll then use the information you have given to find an appointment which will suit you. When an appointment which meets your needs and matches the days you are available becomes free they’ll contact you to offer an assessment appointment.
Waiting times for regular appointments can vary, depending on your availability, the current waiting list, and type of therapy needed. Share are sometimes unable to accept new applications for therapy as they experience such a high demand for their service. If this is the case, keep an eye on their website for when they reopen their waiting list.
