Sheffield DACT (Domestic Abuse Coordination Team) have responsibility for domestic and sexual abuse services in Sheffield. They also provide a range of resources on their website to help you understand domestic abuse.

The helpline is available Monday – Friday 8.00am – 8.00pm and Saturday/Sunday/Bank holidays 11.00am – 8.00pm
Out of these hours you can call the National Domestic Violence Helpline 24/7 – 0808 2000 247
Anyone who is affected by domestic or sexual violence can call the helpline, including men, children, young people and family members. Your call will be answered by an experienced worker who can help you work through which services might be best for you.
If you don’t want to speak on the phone or it is unsafe for you to do so, you can email the helpline on [email protected] to ask for advice and information. You can use their new online chat facility – this is available everyday between 1pm and 4pm at www.idas.org.uk

- advice, support and safety for people experiencing domestic and sexual abuse
- up-to-date access to services in Sheffield and available refuge spaces
If you need an interpreter, DACT can provide you with one. You can also read their information on their website in multiple languages.

The Sheffield DACT website has a comprehensive list of other organisations that might be able to support you in your situation whatever your gender, including specialist refuges, housing support, LGBT and advocacy services.
