The Children’s SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) is part of the Safeguarding Support Unit at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

They provide a child and adolescent friendly environment for 0-16 year olds from across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw who have been victims of sexual assault or rape.

The centre offers crisis support following a rape or assault. This includes options such as medical assessment/treatment, a forensic examination, and referrals to ongoing aftercare services. You can choose which services you access and can choose as much or as little as you would like. They will also help you to understand your rights and options.

For anyone 16 years and over please visit the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at Hackenthorpe Lodge.

Referrals are through the police and social care. If you have concerns about a child or young person who you think may have been sexually assaulted, please contact the police or report the issue to social services – numbers for different local regions are available here.
